Effective July 1, 2014 for the state of Illinois, adults who are 18, 19, or 20 years old and did not take a drivers education class during high school are required to complete the six hour adult driver education course before getting a driver’s license. The course can be taken in either a classroom or online and upon successfully finishing they will receive a certificate of completion for the adult 6 hour adult drivers education course.
