Driving in Spring

Spring weather can be extremely unpredictable and create some dangerous driving conditions. Top Driver has created our top list of potential road hazards that you may encounter in the spring time. To learn more about Top Driver Education visit us online at www.topdriver.com or call (888) 471-5418

  1.Rain & Flooding

Rain and flooding conditions can happen when heavy spring rains or significant thawing snow happens due to the warming temperatures. These can cause very slippery areas or hydroplaning conditions. To avoid issues arising from these conditions, slow down your speed and increase the distance between you and the car in front of you.

    2.Hail Season

Hail can cause significant damage to your vehicle – particularly your paint, body condition, and windshield. Move your car indoors or under a carport to avoid vehicular hail damage when it’s in the forecast. If you’re driving and hail starts, pull into a gas station for shelter.

   3.Winter Wear & Tear

The freeze and thaw of winter conditions can cause cracks and erosion of roadways to become significantly worse. Be sure to take your time and keep you eyes peeled for cracks and potholes that could cause an accident or a popped tire.

   4.Bicyclers & Runners

Cyclists and runners are out in droves as soon as temperatures break. Be sure to keep an eye out for fitness enthusiasts on the edges of the road that may not have been there in recent months.

   5.Check Your Lights

Make sure your headlights and fog lights are working properly to get you through spring fogs and rains.
